Georgia, originally from Manchester, moved to Dublin in 1995 and relocated with her family to Kilmacanogue, Co Wicklow in 2009.
Georgis's passion for language was ignited at school, where she studied both French and German at A Level. She travelled back and forth to Germany, living, working and studying for 6 years. She finally graduated from Wolverhampton University with a BA (Hons) Degree in Languages, Business and Information Technology. Further travel found Georgia teaching English and French at a Finishing School in Switzerland as well as at an English Language School in New Zealand.
Georgia’s language skills moved her into international sales and then event management in tourism in Ireland. Starting a family, stopping work and moving to Kilmacanogue was unknowingly to Georgia, the start of things to come.
Fast forward 5 years...
When her eldest daughter started primary school, Georgia decided she would have a go at introducing the French language to her children. She began little by little speaking French at home, reading books in French and listening to French songs and over time word got around that learning French was fun! This led to friends and school Mums asking if she would teach their children too! Encouraged by this and her underlining passion for languages, Georgia found herself looking at careers where she could juggle family life and use her linguist skills. She came across an opportunity with La Jolie Ronde teaching French to local children in the area and hasn’t looked back!
Today Georgia’s language business has gone from strength to strength. She currently teaches weekly classes of both French and Spanish to around 50 children in 3 local schools and 3 open centres and as numbers have steadily increased Georgia has employed the services of 3 tutors to help meet this growing need.
To help filter enquiries more efficiently, Georgia also launched her own company website –www.greystoneslanguagesforchildren.com. The site provides up to date information on course content as well as class times and venues and it acts as a fantastic direct promotional tool, not only to parents but to new prospective schools and nurseries in the area. The website offers a more professional image and edge.
Not standing still, Georgia has also helped many other teachers within the La Jolie Ronde network who have benefited from her experience. She currently heads a private Facebook Group for Licensees and Tutors in Ireland so they can share their experiences as well as looking for support with their business and classes.
General Manager for La Jolie Ronde Steve Baker said, “Georgia was chosen for the commitment she has shown over the last few years. She has great enthusiasm for languages and her classes are of a very high standard with her pupils extremely focused. She is a great example of a La Jolie Ronde licensee in both her teaching and management of her business. Her classes have a happy and fun atmosphere with the children obviously enjoying their learning”.
